July, The month of loss, love and remembrance.

In loving memory of Jim Julin
Rockford artist and friend.

Pencil drawing and words by Ramona Felse

A Giant fell today..

A toppling over without warning,
the great heart
 that beats no more
we are consumed by sadness,
 overcome
by love and remembrance
of hickory sticks
and generosity
and giant chairs
draped
with love

The cancer was found, and 4 or 5 days later he was gone.

Rest In Peace Jimmy

  5. There will be some sentences, some ideas, some style or way of living, which will go with you and be always your friends in different situations.

    My condolence, dear Ramona!

The drawing melts my heart! How sad - but how wide and free!! I've lost a very valuable artist friend also VERY suddenly about one year ago...Coincidence...And exact on July 26th 20111 my dear mother died...

This your drawing is more than personally. Its a feast for my heart showing the freedom of my beloved friends (also animals) who died....

Amazing weblog! Do you might have any suggestions for aspiring writers? I'm hoping to start my own weblog soon but I'm a little lost on everything. Would you suggest starting with a totally free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? You’ll find so several choices out there that I'm completely overwhelmed .. Any tips? Appreciate it!

  10. This reminded me so much of my husband who passed away from cancer 14 months ago. He only lived about 4 months after we found out about his cancer. A loving heart and a good husband, dad and grandpa. But he is free and healed, just as your friend is! :)
