Here and Now

Ball point pen and paper.

A star emerges out of the night sky
and I am transformed
from the person
 I was
only moments before
I saw it.

January 2013 was reluctant to release her cold.
She held back snow,
a dusting here, a frigid wind chill there.

Today, March like weather, a mild 57 degrees as I sit here
with open window
and listen to street sounds
and the trumpeting of wild geese.

Noticing the Stars

Inspired by a post by artist Dori Stuffer,  I want to remember the moment
when my attention is turned toward
 the
night sky in all her splendor.

Wintry day in January and Rose hips in the Snow

A dusting of snow over the weekend
reminds us it's
winter after all.

Wild Rose Hip branches brought inside
and placed in a jar with white soap.
