Northern Illinois gets polar vortex.

We are experiencing unusually cold temps today. Colder than Siberia!
Some Arctic air will come down to visit us for maybe two days. The wind chill could be -40 degrees below zero.

I'm invigorated by weather extremes and today I marvel at the wisdom that the animals have.

    1. Hi Lisa, you like these treats? I melted some suet cake in a pot and added p-nut butter, oatmeal, cornmeal, and birdseed then put in a muffin tin and freeze...very easy and very nourishing!!

  4. And colder than Alaska, at least Southeast Alaska! I agree with Valerianna, taking special care for the wild friends is so kind.
    Stay warm Ramona and pets!

  5. Every day I follow the news in radio and here about the cathastrophal degrees and situation in Norh-USA! I feel for you and I always think of all those animals in such coldness!

O the poor ducks, being so hungry but now finding a meal in your house!

I love the photo with you in the red jacket, like Santa Claus bringing some cake to brave children: animal children.

The iron birds are wonderful. The deep inner connection between you and these flying creatures flows into your heart-work.

What a warm heart in this cold world!
