As the last day of January comes to its end, it would be a mistake to think that
Mother Winter will release her white world
any time soon.

Walking with Misha

Misha loves to run.
As soon as she is let off  leash she will run
around and around and around me ,
sometimes up to five times or more with out stopping.

Once all the excess energy and pure joy of running fast is
finished it is time to check out the surroundings

Beautiful colors of Winter.

I only went out for a walk and finally concluded to stay out till sundown, for going out, I found, was really going in.  ~John Muir, 1913

  1. Hi, nice to meet you on my blog!
We seem to get the tail end of your East Coast storms a week or two afterwards. Blogging and potter friends from New York say it is snowing again, and those in Minnesota too.

  2. They are right to say that. And here in the Great Lakes area we are all holding our breath for quite possibly something huge tomorrow.

  3. Hi Ramona,

My dog, Gennie, is the same way. She loves to be outside running, playing and exploring.
Lovely sketch of the bird. :)

  4. Really a very beautiful sketch of the bird! It is a throstle, I think. Here in Germany they flow into the southern parts of Europe, even till Africa. There is sensitive and very simple dialog between you and the nature and animals surrounding you. This is so valuable!

  5. Yes Dori, It is also called a Song Thrush.
Such a lovely patterned underpart it has.

Gina, So funny how a romp with a dog is quite different then when we walk in just our own company.
