Something waits beneath it

"I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure in the landscape...the loneliness of it...Something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn't show"
                                                       American painter Andrew Wyeth

and, beneath it all, we have had to say goodbye to our beloved Mimi,

she passed away a week ago today at 14 years old.

Rest in peace lovely girl. XO

  1. Wonderful photographs, almost without color, almost abstract, and all breathe an invisible presence ... beautiful and fascinating. Dear Mimi :X Dear Ramona :X

  4. Dearest Ramona, this is a wonderful post, full of hope and desire and tears. Let's turn around: Full of tears, desire and hope. It's too hard to loose one of our companions, and there is only one way: to go forward through the healing snow, tears dropping into the white cold stars being carried to the sky, where we all will once laugh and laugh and laugh. Salvation still has happened, but we have to stay here in dark hope for some moment. I feel with you, I am a missing person, too.

  5. Hi Ramona - My heart opens when I come to your posts... the sensitivity in your drawings moves me, always. And now, today, I'm shedding a few tears for little Mimi - or maybe I'm feeling a bit of your grief - and of course remembering mine at the passing of my animals. Many blessings.

I agree 100% with Valerianna. The drawings at the sides of your blog are wonderful, The Mother-Mary-Angel is most valuable! The other works, too!

  7. Oh, Ramona - such a rich post, full of all that living allows us, beauty and grief bound together with love. The bird photos are just amazing. I agree with the quote about fall and winter. This morning's walk was all those things. Warm hugs to you. -sus

  8. I mean I recognize footprints of a deer, too. The train I mean is a symbol for saying good bye. The title is so wonderful, and Mimi was - is -an angel, so soft she looks, I see the shadow of your big dog walking with you. Your eyes are a miracle! Beautiful also the drawing of eyes - your eyes - beside.
